Kansas anymore (the longest goodbye) by Role model

Post-breakup with internet superstar Emma Chamberlain, Role Model is reflecting, regrouping, and rebranding in the pop-country fusion Kansas Anymore: The Longest Goodbye. Role Model’s soliloquy of regret is set to a mix of upbeat electric guitar and solemn, Hank Williams-style banjo, expressing the true range of emotions that accompany a romantic split: from “Am I lying to my mother / that someday I’ll find another,” to “I don’t think I love you anymore.” With instant radio hits like “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out,” Role Model has repurposed his pop-rap chops into something that feels more authentic, with equally as much creative liberty. Although it might not be his first album, Kansas Anymore reads like the debut of a new Role Model. 4.7/5
